Four candidates stand for two PPL Performer Director positions in the Performer Board elections

Four candidates have been nominated for the two upcoming positions of Elected Performer Director; the successful candidates will join the main PPL Board and also the company’s Performer Board.

The candidates are Crispin Hunt, Robin Millar CBE, Iain Sutherland and Mark Kelly (who is retiring by rotation and standing for re-election in accordance with PPL’s Articles of Association).

This year’s PPL Annual Performer Meeting (APM) is being held at RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD on Wednesday 27 November 2013 for eligible performers (i.e. those registered with PPL who received a PPL performer payment in 2011 and/or 2012).  Performers are welcome to contact (quoting their PPL ID) with any queries about the APM.

One of the two positions is new and follows changes in the PPL Board structure that were approved at the company’s AGM in June 2013. These changes now mean an increase in the number of Elected Performer Directors on the PPL Board from two to three, taking the total number of performer directors to five (with the other two being nominated by British Actors’ Equity and the Musicians’ Union respectively). In addition to the other directors, with meetings also attended by representatives from AIM, BPI, FAC, MMF and MPG, the PPL Board benefits from a breadth and depth of experience unrivalled across the music industry.

Under PPL’s Articles of Association, the two Elected Performer Director positions being voted for at the APM must be filled by representatives of, or persons associated predominantly with, featured performers. The third Elected Performer Director position is not subject to this requirement and is currently held by Gerald Newson, Chairman of the PPL Performer Board.
