Immaculate collections: PPL CEO Peter Leathem in Music Week’s royalty collections special

PPL’s Chief Executive Officer Peter Leathem recently featured prominently in Music Week’s special issue focusing on royalty collections.

Peter was interviewed alongside other industry peers including representatives from Downtown Music Publishing, Kobalt, PRS For Music, RoyaltyShare, Songtrust, Sony/ATV and Vistex.

Peter spoke to Music Week US Editor Emmanuel Legrand ahead of the feature and explained that “collaboration is a key part of our agenda” as he discussed various topics, including working with our sister collection societies across the world to collect international royalties on behalf of our members, the “really big focus to manage quality data” and the recent launch of PPL PRS Ltd.

Music Week also talked about “how the UK is home to several world-class rights management organisations including PPL, which collects neighbouring rights on behalf of performers and record labels”.  The publication then went onto explain that both PPL and PRS for Music have been “growing their businesses on the back of the irresistible interest in British music and artists around the world.”
