PPL gets set to go the extra mile for Sport Relief

PPL call centre will be taking donations for Sport Relief on Friday 23 March 2012.

PPL is proud to announce its support for Sport Relief 2012. On Friday 23 March, Sport Relief hits the airwaves with a fantastic night of TV and 60 PPL staff will be volunteering to receive donation calls. The call centre team will be getting active and fundraising themselves by holding a bake sale and raffle all in the name of charity.

This is the third year in a row that PPL has volunteered as a call centre for Sport Relief. And in that time PPL has helped to raise approximately £100,000.

In 2010 over 90 call centres, staffed by a phenomenal 6340 charitable volunteers, supported the Sport Relief campaign, helping to raise a mind blowing £44 million. This year, Sport Relief is warming up for another huge night of fundraising with the help of the incredible team from the PPL staff all of whom give up their Friday evening at the end of a busy week.

"It's a fantastic commitment from our people and this is the third year running that many of them have sacrificed their Friday night to help in such a worthy cause," said Christine Geissmar, Head of Operations, PPL "I am proud of them all and my thanks go to all of them – and here's to breaking PPL's previous best."

As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. All the money raised by the public helps people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries. From the Friday of fundraising fun right through to the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25 March it promises to be a brilliant weekend.
