Jez Bell

Jez has over 30 years of experience in the music industry and has been PPL’s Chief Licensing Officer since 2015. Jez is responsible for PPL’s licensing strategy and leads its negotiations with its major partners.

Before joining PPL, Jez was Chief Executive of rara Media Group Limited, which operated rara.com, an on-demand music streaming service operating in 31 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.  Leading rara, Jez launched Europe’s first fully on-demand direct to car music streaming service in six major European markets in partnership with BMW.

Prior to that, Jez was Chief Content Officer at Omnifone, a business-to-business provider of music streaming services for consumer electronics vendors, ISPs, automotive and mobile companies. Before that he worked he held a number of executive roles at PRSforMusic, including leading PRS and MCPS’ Online, Broadcast and Mechanical licensing.
