Royalties
We pay hundreds of thousands of performers and recording rightsholders from revenues collected by us from the licensing of their recorded music when it is broadcast or played in public in the UK.
We also collect royalties from performers and recording rightsholders when their recorded music is played from around the world.

Championing music creators for 90 years
PPL is the UK’s music licensing company for over 150,000 performers and recording rightsholders. We have been licensing the use of recorded music in the UK since 1934.
We only deduct our operating costs for our services and do not retain a profit, meaning we maximise the amounts we pay out to the performers and recording rightsholders we represent.
You can ask us to represent you worldwide (again, we don’t retain a profit for this service) to ensure you receive the royalties you are entitled to from the use of your recorded music.
We work on behalf of performers and rightsholders from across the globe
We champion music rights, ensuring our members’ talent and investment is fairly rewarded.
