The Last Dinner Party sign with PPL for international royalties collection

The Last Dinner Party, winners of this year’s BRITs Rising Star award, have signed with PPL for the collection of their international neighbouring rights royalties.

The five-piece band join a host of artists who have already signed with PPL for international collections this year, including Lewis Capaldi, Ice Spice, FLO, London Grammar and Kenya Grace. 

The Last Dinner Party, who were named the BBC’s Sound of 2024, topped the Official UK Albums Chart in February this year with their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy, achieving one of the biggest sales weeks of the 21st century for a debut album by a British guitar band. Last month, the album was shortlisted for this year’s Mercury Music Prize.

The band, comprising Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci, have had a meteoric rise to the top. After playing some of the UK’s smallest independent venues in 2023, this year saw them headline London’s Roundhouse and tour across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. They return home to play the Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend (24-25 August).

Between April 2023 and May 2024, The Last Dinner Party accumulated over 688,000 seconds of airplay in the UK, equivalent to eight days of continuous airplay. Their single ‘Nothing Matters’, which peaked inside the Official UK Singles Chart Top 20, makes up 62% of this figure, amassing 428,000 seconds in this period, with ‘Sinner’ in second place.
